Description

In this module, you will learn and take part in the perioperative fluid debate and the fast-changing evidence, which informs it. This includes which fluids are best to use in and around the time of surgery and why is this.

Additionally, cardiovascular disease remains a significant morbidity burden and as such is considered a priority in perioperative care. You will look at the use of RCTs to explore interventions associated with cardiac ischaemia, heart failure and its significant contribution to morbidity and mortality in the perioperative period and the importance of pre-operative anaemia.
