Description

Content: Ìý
This module explores understandings of multilingualism, and how this informs multilingual pedagogies and policies in different sectors of education, both private and state education, and from kindergarten through to higher education. It investigates how wider socio-political and economic contexts shape policies and practices in educational settings, inviting you to reflect on your own experiences of language learning and/or teaching. Throughout the module, you will be encouraged to draw on your linguistic repertoires and to consider how the ideas tackled speak to your own experiences of multilingualism. Please note it is not necessary to speak or to have studied a second language in order to participate in this module, as you will be encouraged to embrace a broad understanding of what multilingualism includes.Ìý
